The first step is deciding what type of organizer you prefer; tray, apron, bag, a tool board, or a combination of two. Once that’s figured out, it’s time to become an efficient lineman machine.
The problem is that the linemen bucket has a limited amount of space for tools and it becomes even more cramped once the lineman climbs into the bucket. Oftentimes the tools end up in a mess at the bottom of their bag, by the hand controls, or worse yet, by their feet. This makes it difficult to find what you’re looking for when needed most.
The solution is a bucket organizer that clips onto the side of the bucket and keeps everything separated so lineman can complete their jobs quickly and without wasting time. Organizers have separate pockets where lineman can store wrenches, channellocks, lineman pliers, etc. Just clip on the bucket organizer and get right to work!
Best overall:
One of the most versatile and customization organizers on the list! With this holder you will be able to store everything you need with ease. The entire tool tray organizer has been strengthened with high-impact ABS construction to ensure durable longevity. Protected from extreme weather conditions with a water repellent and UV resistant olefin cover which blocks both light and ultraviolet rays.
Designed internally so you can move dividers around depending on how many compartments each of them need. In terms of size it measures 23 inches wide by 14 inches deep by 8 inches high—enough space to stow all of the essential tools and materials used during your work day. If you decide on this organizer you won’t have to worry if this is the right one for you or not, it will make you and your tools happy day after day.
Best Budget:
The apron organizer is an ingenious way to stay organized and have everything at your fingertips. It features multiple pockets for all of your tools with high visibility bright orange color so that they don’t get lost among other things in an already cramped workspace. Durable vinyl construction ensures it’s meant to last. The small apron is perfect for wrench and tool storage.
The best part? It doesn’t take up too much space and even has a small pouch where you can store your square nuts, locknuts, bonds, and weavers. If I was looking for a new fiber lineman bucket organizer I’d snag this one without hesitation
EDIT: I bought this one and I love it!

Best Runner-Up:
Klein Hard Body Bucket with Kickstand
14x7x10
The Klein 5144BHB Hardbody lineman bucket with kickstand is the perfect organizer for any person who needs everything in one place. It has a deep bottom, 10 inches, so you can fit a lot of tools and materials. I often throw entire frames into this bad boy and it holds up perfectly. It’s tough, that’s for sure.

Built to be durable and long lasting, this product is not like some wimpy new model you might see. These buckets are constructed out of tough molded polypropylene for maximum durability at minimal weight. This organizer features drain holes in the bottom to help ensure optimum drainage and comes with 15 tool slots.
There is one problem- if you don’t use the correct hooks the bucket will warp and get slightly bent. It’s not a huge issue, but something to be aware of. If you want something that will get the job done, not break the bank and is highly versatile…the Klein Hardbody bucket organizer is a great choice and works excellent for me.
Best Under $70:
Klein Aerial Oval Bucket 15 pockets:
10x10x10
Similar to the previous option, the Klein 5144 offers the 15 tool storage slots. However it is a bit smaller, measuring 10x10x10. It doesn’t have the hard plastic exterior that helps maintain the shape, but it definitely does a good job of providing you storage and organization. Unfortunately the canvas material is a bit more susceptible to breaking down from wear and tear plus weather. It’s hard to beat for the money though.
Best Under $120:
Klein Aerial Tool Apron 51829M
If you liked the Best Budget choice over you are going to really want to consider this high quality lineman bucket organizer. You get an extra storage spot, which is handy to separate nuts, weavers, and split bolts. It also comes with a spot to hold your hammer, a couple pockets specifically designed to hold drill bits, and of course the magnet design that allows you to quickly attach small materials such as nuts and bolts. This a really awesome setup and a lineman can’t go wrong with having this as their everyday bucket organizer.
Handy holder accessory you didn’t know you wanted:
It’s not easy to work all day in the bucket truck while searching for materials that have fallen to the bottom of your bucket bag. Protect your sanity and stay organized with the Ultimate Bucket Truck Tool Tray! This organizer is a bit different as it sits atop the bucket with a few small flat areas to neatly set small items. This clever tray has hooks for the lineman’s tool apron or bag. The reinforced ABS construction is durable enough to last years, even in tough weather conditions.
An Elite Tool Board Option:

Plenty of lineman prefer the Tool Board and this one from Jameson is one of the most highly praised tool boards. Personally I have never seen this one in person, but lineman talk about it often. If you want a simple, strong and efficient bucket organizer this Jameson tool board boasts everything you NEED, but doesn’t crowd the area.
This tool board has adjustable leather belts, tool slots for your lineman pliers, channellocks, etc.; all while saving space with this gear organization board. Rugged 18 oz. canvas stands up to wear-and-tear and will last a lifetime outdoors. It also has a pouch on the bottom of the board that can hold quite a bit.
Lineman bucket accessories you might need:
These are what you need in order to easily and safely support your bucket organizer of choice. The hooks attach to the lip of the bucket from the bucket organizer. They allow you to hang your bucket bag on the inside or outside of your bucket. I also like to have extra hooks so I can store additional bucket organizers or tools.

A small natural canvas mini-bucket is the perfect way to keep your smaller items organized. This bag has 5 outside pockets for storing all those things that tend to hide in the bottom of bigger bags! It’s made with poly fabric on the bottom and the side, which makes it rigid enough that it can withstand tough work and different weather types.
Final Words
The lineman bucket organizer is an essential tool for any lineman who needs to be as efficient as possible. You’ve read about the best lineman bucket organizers on the market, now it’s time to decide which one is right for you. Here are some quick tips to help you choose wisely.
First, think about what your primary goal is in purchasing a bucket organizer – do you want something that will keep all of your tools organized and accessible? Or do you need something more durable or with additional features like clips or places for small parts? Next, consider how often you use certain tools- if they’re used frequently then make sure there’s enough room in the appropriate section of the organizer. Finally, take into account durability when making this decision as well. These organizers get thrown around quite a bit and kicked getting in and out of the bucket.
Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the bucket organizers mentioned in this article. Pick one and start setting it up how you like it.
